Becoming a Work Incentives Specialist

Do you work with individuals who are receiving disability benefits such as Social Security or SSI? Or possibly State of New Hampshire benefits such as Medicaid?  Or who live in public housing?  Have those individuals expressed a desire to work but are afraid of losing monthly income or medical coverage?

Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) has been working with the Granite State Employment Project to develop Work Incentives Specialist Competencies and trainings to meet these competencies.  GSIL is offering trainings on navigating benefits and work incentives.

Starting in the summer of 2011, we will be offering 2-day workshops throughout the State that will provide increased knowledge about work incentives to professionals.  This training will give specific plans and formulas to help individuals and family members see the benefits of working.  We will show you how to do a work plan that highlights future dates and time frames that are critical to the individual’s future.
